L.J. McCormick was born in Oxford, Nebraska and came to College Park after an over thirty year career in construction/project/property management and property development as well as owning a custom home and building restoration company. An alumni of the University of Nebraska School of Music and Cornhusker Marching Band, he majored in Trumpet Performance, is a classically trained trumpet player and educator, and is an in-demand freelance player, performing with top acts of today and yesterday. He is on the Grow Grand Island Arts Initiative, Grand Island Public Schools Key Communicator Committee, Grand Island Rotary International, is Chairman of the Bradshaw Village Board of Trustees, and is President of the Grand Island Music Series. He is also a Veteran, having served 18 years in the U.S. Army and Nebraska National Guard. This combination of experience fits well with the Mission and diverse offerings here at College Park. L.J. is married and has five children.
